About this site
This site all started because I tried to use the internet to find out what was on locally.
After about half an hour I had located the sites of two local cinemas
and was surrounded by impatient children.

I run a bookshop in Ramsgate www.michaelsbookshop.com
and see thanetonline.com as a hobby that uses up our spare web space.
I am very keen to promote the use of the internet by local people
and am happy to help with this when I can.

If you have or know of a local website (provided its content is not pornographic libelous spiteful Etc.)I can offer you the following services.

1  I can publish it in a frame for you on this site. This service is free.

2  I can link it to a subdirectory of thanetonline.com This service is free.

If you don't have a website but would like to publicise a local business, event or attraction
there are a number of options that I can offer you

1 I can publish a page on this site for you providing you can send the text and illustrations either
by email or on a disk this service is free for a page about the size of a large coffee table book

Frame = where one site appears within a page of another like "Pictures of St. Nicholas"
It's normal web address is http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/bj1/snick/snick.htm
not the easiest thing to remember possibly easier to find it on thanetonline.com

Subdirectory = where one site appears on another with  a web address in plain English so
that it can be published on advertising broachers etc. like Ramsgate Motor Museum that appears
as http://www.thanetonline.com/RamsgateMotorMuseum/
(note you don't have to put in the http://www. bit and it does not matter if you use capital letters)
